LED
Fluorescents For School Systems
|
|
-
A broken fluorescent requires replacement
of all food due to mercury contamination
-
LED
Fluorescent replacement tubes use
less electricity
to operate
-
Fluorescents are not very efficient in
cold environments
-
Maintenance costs will be
reduced
as our LED Fluorescent replacement tubes last over 10
years at 24/7
-
Ballasts are
bypassed and the
tubes are wired direct and in parallel which eliminates
costly ballasts and their heat
-
LED Fluorescent
replacement tubes already have a parabolic
cover and can swivel
to adjust the light and point it on the
food items
-
Fluorescent tubes
emit a high amount of heat which causes the cooling
system to work harder than it needs to. Our LED
Fluorescent tubes run much cooler than
fluoresents
.
-
Replacement
ballasts and parabolic coverings can cost more than
our LED Flourescent Tubes.
-
Our LED
Fluorescent Replacement Tubes are sealed
against moisture intrusion
(most
other bulbs are not)
|
Flourescent tubes are known to
emit mercury when broken and young students are known
to break fluorescent tubes for fun. Cleanup of
the hazordous material poses a challenge for our
Nation's school systems. LED Fluorescent Tube
Replacements can save money on the
electric bill, but they also remove the source
of the mercury all together. Umpqua
Energy, Inc. supplies school systems with LED
Fluorescent Replacement Lamps to retrofit the school's
current lighting. Effeciencies of each bulb are
greater than fluorescents and only use 18
watts of power as opposed to 40 watts of
power for fluorescent technology. Over time,
there will be big savings for the
school in terms of energy efficiency but also in terms
of maintenance costs and the absence of
hazardous materials
from fluorescent tube technology.
